Status Report 1: It won't be long

A few briefs to ward off stagnancy on the front page:
- School is finally finished for the semester and I am looking forward to having some more time to work on some projects over the summer.
- A slightly newer version of jcb_cusomize is out for anyone interested. Development continues.
- I started writing for the MacNN blog, and I’m currently unsure about whether I should post articles both here and there or not. For now I won’t duplicate anything, but that may change in teh future depending on traffic. You can read my first post.
- I aquired a used PIII box and in the last few hours have installed Ubuntu (it was the first single-CD distro I found, I think I’ll be going with Suse or Fedora eventually) and as I type this it is installing mono, Apache 2, and some other goodies. The installer worked flawlessly, setting up all the hardware I have, and everything is working fine. And this is on a POS four year old Dell. I’m impressed.
- I don’t think he reads this site, but good luck to Ben in his travels.
Update
I ran into a little snag installing mono-develop, but once I had added additional software repositories everything worked itself out. Maybe it should bother me, but having to do a little configuring to install unsupported development tools doesn’t seem like a huge deal. It is probably better this software isn’t available by default, seeing as it is unsupported.
